what is the law in ohio?

    Just what is the law on open carry in ohio? does anyone know? tlaked to a couple of cops and they said no such thing in ohio Can this be true??
     
  2. Do you have a current copy of "Ohio's Concealed Carry Law" published by none other than the Office of the Attorney General, State of Ohio?

    In MY copy, on page 18 it says....

    "Ohio's concealed carry laws do not regulate "open" carry of firearms. If you openly carry, use caution. The open carry of firearms is a legal activity in Ohio"

    That's right from the Attorney General's book.

    If you carry a gun either openly or concealed, KNOW the laws of your state and any state you may visit while carrying.

    That's why I'm here. I do visit Ohio and Pennsylvania during the summer and NEED to know when and where I can carry openly.

    PS The police are usually a poor choice to receive gun information from. Most are strongly slanted in their opinion.
    I am not anti-LEO as I was one, I just know how a LOT of these guys feel about civilians with guns.

    I see they've moved the "open carry" information from page 18 to page 17.
