  1. A Senate committee approved a bill Friday that would let people carry concealed weapons without getting a permit if they had a driver's license and met state standards for gun ownership.

    Supporters said the requirements to get a driver's license are stringent enough and there's no need for residents to pay $10 for a concealed carry permit. Rep. Gene Abdallah, R-Sioux Falls, said people who carry guns illegally, such as felons, will do so regardless of whether a permit is required.

    This begs the question can we do to get $10 permits and laws like this?
