All,

Well, with most of the range time spent doing moving and reload drills and things like that, I had gotten away from practicing the easiest way to "make up" time.

Yes, the initial draw stroke from the holster.

So, the other day I decided to work strictly on drawing and firing at the 10 yard steel from a surrender position.

I had been practicing the reloads so I would run 1 or 2 bullets in the magazines to time myself. Got 6 shots and 2 reloads down below 5 seconds a time or two, so I was happy with that.

Then I started to think about the draw and fire process. They were consistently in the 1.3 to 1.7 range but just KNEW I could make that a sub 1 second shot with some practice.

Got it done last week. Three in a row, all under 1 second. Not under by much, but all three hit steel at 10 yards from the surrender condition.

I am so ready to beat up on my buddy on Monday night this week!!

AD (my hands are sore)

PS Guys, put a timer on your practices and it will make a world of difference in how you practice for sure.
