Are 30-30 tube fed rifles safe?

  1. I'm not that familiar with long guns so please forgive my ignorance. I'm looking at a Mossberg 30-30 lever action rifle which is tubular fed. I was wondering if the fact that the point of the following cartridge, touches the primer area of the leading cartridge, presents a risk of detonation. Amy information is greatly appreciated.
  2. Ammo for tube fed lever actions(30-30,35 Rem) is flat point. Even though pointed ammo is available, you don't use those.
  3. diesel

What about the plastic ballistic tipped, Oldman. I haven't had a 30-30 in about 20 years, just courious.:flag:
  4. can't answer that one as I don't know anything concerning that situation.
  5. Thanks guys !! I guess I should have looked around at different ammo before I posted.
